Who should I write to:

Any decision to designate anchorages around Gabriola Island must be approved by the Federal Minister of Transport, Marc Garneau. The Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and The Minister of Environment and Climate Change should be involved too.

Note that postage is free when mailing a letter to a federal minister and written letters are much more effective than emails.

  1. Three freighters were parked outside of Descanso Bay, Gabriola when we arrived at our small home this weekend. The low frequency and vibrations being emitted from these vessels made it impossible to sleep all night, (akin to wresting your head on a running washing machine all night long). As a tax paying resident who receives no street lighting or road repairs, this is like a punch in the gut to be treated in this fashion. What a thoughtless way to treat local residents.

Please, please help us to keep these massive vessels off of our shores.

    Sincerely,
    Andy Dods
